Those attending Light Up Nemacolin on Nov. 24, 2023, saw nearly $8 million invested into the area through philanthropic and charitable donations from Nemacolin and the Hardy family. Among those donations was a $7 million investment to West Virginia University opening doors for future generations of Mountaineers pursuing a career in hospitality.

The donation was an endowment and will serve as a renewable source of funding through the WVU Foundation.

“This isn’t just an investment in the future of these students, it’s a promise of a brighter future, infinite opportunities, and the building blocks of a dream that’s now more of a reality.”

— Nemacolin CEO & Owner Maggie Hardy

Located just 45 minutes from Nemacolin, WVU in Morgantown, West Virginia, has developed a deep and wide connection with Nemacolin through students looking for internships, apprenticeships, job opportunities, and career development.
